CONTAMINANTS REMOVAL FROM RECYCLED FURNISH
SERDISP BTE
The growing use of recycled furnish in papermaking is an evidence. Recycled fibers usually contains a high amount of contaminants, such as plastics, adhesives, inks, metals and other substances. This increases operational costs but also paper quality problems, deposition in and around the paper machine and runnability issues in converting.
The aim of the treatment is to facilitate the contaminants removal while at the same time increases production, improves yield and reduces operational costs. In many cases, it can use a lesser grade raw material maintaining product quality up to or exceeding their present standards.
Cleaner furnish increases profitability via improved quality, production and machine runnability.
SERDISP BTE removes faster contaminants improving brightness and minimizing fiber losses in the cleaning stages. In this context, the removal of the conglomeration of hydrophobic particles such as stickies, waxes and inks is more efficiently in the rejects of the different elements of the cleaning process (pulper, flotation, cleaners, screens and / or clarifiers).
Reduces deposition in the paper machine, equipment and finished paper
Higher yield of recycled fiber
Improvement of brightness
Reduction of deinking agents
Chance to eliminate the anti-stickies treatment
