INCREASED EFFICIENCY AND QUALITY IN PAPER TISSUE PRODUCTION

The enzymatic technology can reduce production costs significantly and enhance the quality of tissue paper, as it can increase the volume of the fibers, the strength and the softness, reaching the desired quality and maintening the runnability. By partially removing fibers’ walls (primary and secondary), allows the water penetrates easier into the fiber causing its swelling; therefore, fibers become softer and thicker while volume and flexibility increases; likewise, the need for dry strength resins can be eliminated.

OPTIMIZE REFINING PROCESS

The refining remains an indispensable element in most pulp preparation process. Its main objective is to achieve a fibrillating effect which increases the surface area of the fiber and its ability to create new links. We must take into consideration that there is no perfect refining when it comes to mechanical refining.

The enzyme does not replace the refining step in the pulp preparation process but accelerate the breakdown of the glycosidic linkage of cellulose fiber and therefore increase performance of fibrillation.

INCREASE DRAINAGE IN RECYCLED FIBER

The use of recycled fiber has a direct impact on drainage during papermaking, which determines the speed of machine operation. The objective of this enzymatic application is to modify the cellulose material due to its activity on the cellulose and hemicellulose that covers the fiber, increasing the drainage ratio and consequently the production.
